Welcome to the website of Huisartsenprakijk Hertel!

Our general practitioners Dr. Judith Hertel and Dr. Eva Jonkman offer reliable and personal medical care for all age groups. We work together with three medical assistants, two psychologists and a general practioner in training, Dr Anne Schrama. All staff members speak English as well as Dutch, Dr. Hertel is fluent in German. We understand the medical system in the Netherlands might be different from healthcare in your country of origin, and we are happy to help you with any questions you might encounter.

Our practice is situated in Medical Center ‘de Vaart’ on the Irene Vorrinkplein. If your medical condition asks for additional medical tests, many of these can be performed on the ground floor of our building. These include: blood analysis, EKG, echocardiography and lungfunction test. Furthermore, Medical Center de Vaart offers consultations with a specialized diabetes PA and a dietician.

Registration and appointments

Starting Tuesday, november 4th, our practice will be able to register new patients.

You can register if:

• you have recently moved to Zaandam

AND

• live in zip code area 1506

AND

• do not yet have a general practitioner in Zaandam

If you meet above criteria, you can come to the front desk of our practice and complete a registration form. This service is available Monday-Friday from 1:30-4:30 PM. Please bring a valid ID and your health insurance information.

We advise you to activate your online medical file MijnGezondheid.Net and the corresponding App MedGemak. That way, you can directly communicate with our GP’s , sent pictures and order medicine. Note: sending an e-consult message to the GP is sometimes not possible in case of overload. Please try again next day.

Online consultations will be answered within 48 hours

During evenings, nights and weekends, GP-care is clustered in a communal health center: ‘De Huisartsenpost’. This center is opened on weekdays from 5:00 PM till 8.00 AM, during weekends, and on official holidays.
